Somerville Youth Hockey Association
“Learn to Play” Coach, July 2025 – Dec 2025
As a resident in the Cambridge/Somerville area of Massachusetts for nearly 10 years, I was an avid ice hockey player in an adult recreation league. Near the end of my time in Somerville, I was recruited by a teammate of mine, who was and remains the President of the Somerville Youth Hockey Association, to coach the Association’s “Learn to Play” program. This was extremely rewarding for me as someone who grew up in South Florida and didn’t have such resources during my own childhood (I didn’t start playing ice hockey until moving to Cambridge at age 21). I learned how to work with a new demographic – young children – and was forced to adapt my verbal communication skills to a more embodied form of instruction, especially since a few of the children knew nothing about hockey and spoke little to no English. Having recently moved to Savannah, GA, I hope to soon find a new opportunity to continue coaching youth hockey.

Golden Lane Publishing
E-Course Instructor, Nov 2023 – Jan 2024
As an instructor for Golden Lane’s Write That Book e-course, I created 8 separate 15-minute video lessons covering a variety of topics from ideation (outlining, crafting a premise, etc.) to the actual writing process to the final stages of editing and proofreading. I wrote the scripts for these videos myself, drawing on my own depth of experience and knowledge in best practices of literary composition and book-writing in particular. Whenever possible, I made use of concrete examples of tools that can be used, strategies that can be employed, and more.
